Welcome to Christmas in Huson Falls. It's a busy little village
nestled between the mountains in central Michigan. The Falls is of
average size and growing every year. Shortly after covering a story
about the families in Whispering Pines, my editor in chief, who loved
it so much, has assigned me to find another story on families. So
as luck would have it I came across just such a family living
right in Hudson Falls. Actually it happen purely by accident that I
could find a family so close to home. I had been out on another
assignmemt and ran into the Bakeman's for the first time. Whether
it was luck or meant to be, something told me they where just the family
I was looking for the article I was about to do.
It's Christmas eve, storming like crazy and I'm on my way to put the
finishing touches on my story. I can't help but keep thinking of the
last couple of days I had spent with the Bakeman's. They made such an
impression on me, I became aware of the fact, that I would be missing
spending Christmas with my family which was disturbing to me. According to
the Bakeman's, they believe that this time of year is very special and
should be spent together. This was the time to share those special moments
that so often become lost during the year. During the interview, they had
ask me to be called by their first names. So allow me to introduce you to
them. Mr Bakeman's first name is William, Mrs Bakeman's first name is Mary,
the children are Annabelle,Victoria,Elizabeth,Victor and Jacob. At this
interview to my surprise they invited me to spend Christmas with them.
Having mentioned to them that I was busy working this year and wouldn't
be able to spend the holidays with my family. I was so pleased and accepted
their invitation. From the very first meeting, one couldn't help but feel
they where just like my family. I was so grateful knowing that I wouldn't be
spending the holidays alone this year. Well here we are at the Bakeman's home.
But before we enter, let's go back in time to when we first met and get to
know the Bakeman's.
